Sitting within our Defence Airframes business line at our Portsmouth manufacturing plant you’ll do just that. Established in 1990, Portsmouth is one of our newer locations with a workforce of circa 200 employees. The site is a leading technology provider for the aerospace, marine and military markets supplying an extensive range of specialist fuel tanks and flotation systems, as well as engineering expertise and support for fixed and rotary wing aircrafts, land vehicles, missiles, UAVs, torpedoes and marine vessels. Our customer base includes Airbus, BAE Systems, Bell, Boeing, General Automics, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Sikorsky, Saab, MOD.Based at our Portsmouth manufacturing site as the Programme Support Officer you’ll join the Programme team reporting to the Programme Manager. You’ll support the day-to-day steady state programmes on a range of manufacturing projects for customers and be responsible for the administration and activities associated with control and monitoring of progress, scope, cost and resource management within the programme. You will need to be flexible for very limited ad-hoc travel nationally, if required, to meet customers.The operational hours at our Portsmouth site are: 07.30am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday with every second Friday 07.30am to 4.00pm. We operate a non-working day ‘Free Friday’ every other Friday.Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining the customer outlook for budgeting purposes.
  • Preparing the demand for operations, including required performance measures and preparing the handshake agreements with the performance site.
  • Establishing and controlling robust document management in the programme and with customer.
  • Support creation, coordination and delivery of (change) proposals to customer requests.
  • Initiating improvements/ recoveries and formulating / communicating plans relating to on-time delivery (OTD) and quality (Q) from Customer Scorecards / delivery schedule adherence (DSA) / Q etc. in close collaboration with the responsible disciplines.
  • Preparing and analysing the Programme Performance Summary (PPS), reporting deviations and compiling an overall BR4 level report monthly.

How You’ll ContributeTo help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
Essential:

  • Good standard of general education to include grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Experience of a busy role working with a range of customers and internal stakeholders, which sees you managing conflicting demands
  • A high level of accuracy in performing work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Programme/Project Support role
  • Experience using an ERP or SAP systems
  • Experience within commercial, engineering or operations within the aerospace industry
  • Either completed or registered for acknowledged Programme/ Project Management Certification
