Supply Chain & Procurement | Ireland | Permanent | € 48300 – € 483810Programme ExecutiveAn exciting opportunity in the R&D Dept, in Research, Development & Demonstration Team who look at RD&D, Offshore Energy, Electricity & Wind, International Research & Decarbonised Heat & Bioenergy.

  • The team is composed of analytical & technical experts from engineering, science b’grounds focused on developing solutions to decarbonising Ireland’s energy system.
  • This position will play a key role in this
  • You will join an enthusiastic & innovative team coordinating, promoting & assisting research, development & demonstration of technologies related to sustainable energy.
  • This is achieved through the dynamic RD&D team collating national data on a publicly available system & enabling energy funded research dissemination via an annual conference, seminars national energy funding coordination & colleagues across the Dept, govt & the EU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the (RD&D) in Renewables which includes coordinating project evaluation & oversight of projects during implementation.
  • Participate in strategic & programme development within the RD&D Teams
  • Enhance communication in relation to funded RD&D projects, as well as Strategic Funding Partnerships, the International Energy Agency .
  • Work closely with other functions within in particular the wider R&D Dept, to support & enhance delivery of research & innovation activities.
  • participate & represent in national & international committees as required.
  • To ensure that activity peaks flexibility in working hours is welcomed in busy periods.

  • Proven project mgt. & demonstrated can deliver projects end to end.
  • A proven proactive approach to achieving results, including managing scope, time, risk assessment, cost & quality.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving & interpretive skills with can think strategically & use sound judgement on complex issues.
  • Excellent comms skills & can present in a public forum.
  • Can build great relationships with colleagues & ext. s/holders; work in multi-disciplinary teams & to network effectively.
  • Good numeracy skills, strong attention to detail & quality.
  • Can multitask, manage competing demands & work effectively to deadlines.
  • Can work on own initiative & have good IT skills.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A min of 3 years of exp working in research in an energy-related area.
  • 3rd level qualif in a relevant energy-related area with an engineering, scientific or social science etc .
  • Know about Ireland’s energy-related research strengths & opportunities.
  • Know about national & EU energy policy priorities & how research can support achievement of these priorities.
  • Nice to have : Exp of working in energy-related research in public sector, academia or industry & post-graduate or PhD level quals.
