This role will focus on managing projects related to process development and improvement, with a particular emphasis on leveraging advanced data analytics to accelerate our ongoing digital transformation and integration of advanced technologies into the manufacturing processes.Are you passionate about inorganic chemistry and data sciences?
Are you eager to develop new innovative processes for our steel cord production plants?Then you could be the R&D Project Manager we are looking for.Your Impact as R&D Project ManagerAs an R&D Project Manager you will lead projects to develop innovative processes for production of steel cord for reinforcement of tires. Utilizing Bekaert’s project management methodology and supported by technical process and equipment experts, you will drive enhancements in cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability. Additionally, you will provide technical support in your areas of expertise to our production plants worldwide.
- You will be part of the global technology team, working at the heart of steel cord manufacturing process, specifically focusing on the production of half products using large-scale process lines.
- You will actively participate in multidisciplinary and international teams, driving results in strategic projects while adhering to the Bekaert project management methodology.
- You will build up knowledge about the production process in a rubber reinforcement plant.
- You will identify and assess new improvement opportunities and formulate new project proposals, leveraging your advanced data analytics skills.
- You will closely monitor new developments in the external world, utilizing methods such as patent research and by attending exhibitions, to identify potential advancements relevant to your expertise.
- You will develop and implement process-specific standards across the organization, ensuring their effective implementation through diligent follow-up.
About YouEssential skills & competencies
- You hold a Master’s degree, or preferably a PhD, in Inorganic Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science or Engineering Thermodynamics. Prior experience in process development is advantageous but not required.
- You are a quick learner, eager to build up expertise in new domains, and an innovative thinker.
- You excel in complex data analysis and can present the results of your analysis comprehensively to diverse audiences.
- You enjoy collaborating with others, draw energy from collective achievements, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in project management and/or familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements is advantageous.
- You are open to travel (≤ 20% of your time) to the Rubber Reinforcement plants worldwide and you get inspired by working in a multicultural context.
- You speak English fluently.
