R&D Tax Senior ManagerTeam:Sitting within the wider Quantitative Services group of EY, the Research & Development (R&D) tax team is a highly successful team of tax, technology and science specialists who work on a variety of very high profile clients. They are growing from strength to strength in this exciting field of tax that was introduced by the government to encourage Irish companies to invest in R&D.The Opportunity:This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join EY’s fast growing and highly successful R&D Tax practice. The team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be part of a growing and dynamic National practice. This position provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to widen their technical and business skill set while working within a professional services environment and proactively contributing to building a business.Responsibilities:The R&D Senior Manager in EY’s business will be charged with helping clients identify, document, and support tax positions related to their R&D tax credits. The R&D Senior Manager will be a critical member of the R&D leadership team and will actively participate in the marketing and business development of the R&D practice, with an emphasis on growing the business. In addition, the R&D Senior Manager will develop and drive process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintain client relationships, and act as a source of guidance to other team members.Person:
- Master’s / PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
- Five or more years’ experience in R&D tax consulting required including working with clients and providing guidance on R&D tax credits.
- Prior experience communicating with Revenue and experience of Revenue R&D tax credit audits.
- Prior experience supervising tax consulting professionals and delegating work assignments as needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid organizational skills, especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detail
- Prove ability to grow a business
- Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment
- Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to promote a positive team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of junior members on the team.
- Ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
