Regional Network Operations Center Lead, Global Submarine Networks

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of technical program management work experience.
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role with/without direct reports.
• Experience with enterprise network design and operations in a global environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
• Marine Cable Operations experience – especially in cable planning and repair coordination in an Network Operations Center/Context (NOC).
• Strong knowledge of Optical Transport network protocols, systems, platforms topologies, and technologies.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As the Network Operations Center (NOC) Regional Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring a team of NOC technicians, effectively managing incidents, and proactively monitoring network performance to prevent outages and minimize downtime. A key element of the early onboarding of the role will be to establish the regional NOC, under a Global structure across related processes and workflows necessary to support Operations commencing.

Responsibilities

• Drive the regional submarine network day-to-day operations coordination and monitoring.
• Work with external customers and partners for related network assurance and performance management activities including liaising and reporting.
• Support domain experience within operational improvement projects, cross-functional initiatives, assist in developing and implementing performance strategies, as well as review and continually evaluate workflows, systems usage, and related processes.
• Ensure that all operational responsibilities are operating efficiently and effectively with necessary internal and external stakeholders.
