IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with experience in qualitative and/or mixed methods public health research, process evaluation, project management, and a strong interest in working across disciplines as part of an international collaboration.The successful candidate will join PROACT EU-Response (A European Proactive Adaptive Clinical Trials Network within EU-Response), an ambitious 60-month project funded by the European Union under HORIZON Research and Innovation. PROACT aims to strengthen Europe’s pandemic preparedness by consolidating upon existing networks of experts and civil society to establish therapeutic platform trials for respiratory viruses within hospital inpatient settings across Europe.About the roleThe successful applicant will join the Social and Implementation Science Work Stream (led by UCL) which comprises a team of social scientists across Europe. This Work Stream will conduct formative work to understand the current context of clinical trials (including focus groups and interviews with key stakeholders and communities), and) and will undertake a mixed methods process evaluation of the pilot trial when it opens, to ensure trial design is optimised.PROACT is one of several new projects in interdisciplinary approaches to (re)emerging infections in the department.
