About usAt the Royal Free Campus, the UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science hosts cutting-edge translational research. Professor Marilena Loizidou, head of Research Department of Surgical Biotechnology, leads in cancer nanotechnology.The UCL Centre for Biomaterials in Surgical Reconstruction and Regeneration, led by Professor Song, collaborates with scientists, clinicians and industry partners to develop biomedical and engineering innovation. These include 3D models of soft and hard tissue, targeted cell and gene therapy delivery systems, and nanotechnology-based devices, such as hyperplastic nanofiber-guided human iPSC-derived muscle and neuromuscular junction models, piezoelectric nanofiber acoustic devices, and wearable/implantable biosensors.About the roleThe successful candidate will join a highly collaborative group working on generation of TCR-T cells for Ewing Sarcoma and characterisation of their functions in killing tumour cells using 3D in vitro cancer model. The post will be primarily based in the Department of Surgical Biotechnology, within the UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science at the Royal Free Campus (Hampstead, London). Work will also extend to the UCL-GOSH Institute of Child Health and Cancer Institute at University College London.The post provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate with tumour immunologists, tissue engineering scientists, cancer biologist, and bonce cancer surgeons in a highly dynamic and stimulating environment.Other

About youThe post holder must have a PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology, or biotechnology or in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
Expertise in gene transfer, T cell immunology, oncology, molecular and cellular biology and experience in design, generation as well as characterisation of genetically engineering immune cells in vivo.
The successful candidate must also have a scientific rigor and excellent analytical and synthetic capabilities with proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality original research.
