The VacancyRESIDENT ENGINEERJoin Wates: Resident Electrical Engineer Needed!Wates is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Resident Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Twycross Zoo, Atherstone. This role is part of our Facilities Management (FM) contract, where you will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and extra works/emergencies on a range of electrical and mechanical systems.About The Role:As a Resident Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing the sites HVAC plant and electrical distribution systems, including:

  • Control panels
  • Split air conditioning units
  • Chillers and air handling units
  • Boilers and hot water generators
  • Pumps and compressed air systems
  • Building management systems (BMS)
  • Other M&E building plant, equipment, and systems

Your role will also include undertaking minor fabric repairs, non-skilled tasks, and handyperson duties, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently and with a strong focus on customer care.Additionally, you will:

  • Support additional M&E works within your technical competencies and contractual obligations.
  • Provide detailed reporting on remedial and chargeable works, as well as life cycle condition assessments.
  • Deliver high-level technical expertise and hands-on support in service delivery.
  • Participate in the site duty call-out rota, ensuring a responsive and reliable presence for site emergencies.
  • Adopt a proactive, can-do approach, supporting the team across all Facilities Management (FM) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Respond promptly to help desk requests and site engineering emergencies.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities via PDA systems, ensuring all tasks are properly recorded and signed off.
  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health & safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Foster effective communication with clients and team members, ensuring seamless service delivery.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a single-site basis, allowing for in-depth knowledge of the facility and efficient troubleshooting.What We Offer
