Our client, an international company involved in the energy industry; the development and structuring of projects, engineering, construction, supply, operations, maintenance, asset management and management and sales of clean energy, is looking to hire Safety Professionals at their Wind Farm locations. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day.

Our client has multiple sites with numerous contractors and wants to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and enforced.
The Safety Professionals will conduct the following:
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation – Identifying potential hazards and conducting risk assessments specific to the construction site. This involves recognizing dangers related to heavy machinery, working at heights, electrical hazards, and other construction-related risks.
- Safety Inspections and Audits – Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. They check equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure they’re in good working condition and meet safety requirements.
- Incident Management – Managing and documenting any accidents or incidents that occur on-site. This involves investigating the causes, implementing corrective measures, and making recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Enforcing Personal Protective Equipment Standards – Monitoring and ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment by workers. This includes ensuring the availability and correct usage of helmets, gloves, safety goggles, harnesses, etc.
- Communication and Training – Providing ongoing safety training to workers, subcontractors, and other relevant parties. They might conduct toolbox talks, seminars, or workshops to continually reinforce safety practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist management in specific procedural documentation to be provided to technicians for use in their daily job requirements.
- Initiate all QSES alerts and drive incident investigation and reporting in Enablon to ensure closure through identification of root cause(s) and contributing factor(s) as well as assist in making amendments to work instructions in order to prevent future incidents from occurring.
- Ensure development and conveyance of First Day First Hour.
- Provide a proactive approach to identifying potential safety risks and assist in development of strategies for resolution.
- Possess an understanding and knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations, company policies and site emergency response plans.
- Reporting of incidents and pertinent information department management and QSES department.
- Ownership for and functionality of site Emergency Response Plan.
- Conducting two wind turbine audits per day at a minimum.
- Ensure Site manager and QSES is briefed about observations (highlights and what needs to be improved) prior to morning meetings / toolbox talks.
- Assist Site manager in coaching contractors and subcontractors every day by doing inspections. Ensure to focus on work going on inside the turbine as well as in other locations.
- Support project team through site set-up, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and any service and/or repair of the turbines.
- Supports (led by Site Mgmt.) daily morning safety meetings (toolbox talks) with the crew.
- Perform daily observations and safety audits (special focus on work inside turbine).
- Conduct field audits on sub-contractors.
- Conduct/support site incident investigations.
- Conduct HSE training.
- Assist on project site as needed.
- Represent Company at monthly safety meetings.
- Inspect emergency response equipment monthly.
- Ensure completion of monthly site vehicle inspections (with site vehicles are meant service vans, pick-up trucks, supervisor vehicles etc.)
- Assured grounding program inspections / documentation.
- High Voltage glove change out and inspection program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Health and Safety Professional in a similar role.
- Strong overall knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
- Operational knowledge of wind farms would be an asset.
- Strong English communication & presentation skills (oral and written) are required.
- Must possess a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
- The successful candidate will strive towards spending 90% time in field and 10% time in office (meaning spend as much time in the field as possible).
- A driver’s license is required.
- Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
