Kildare and part of a global group of companies that employ over 10,000 staff across over 100 sites globally.Currently recruiting for a Safety Engineer for their Kildare plant my client manufacture products for the housing, industrial and agricultural sectors and are currently enjoying an exciting period of growth in their business.Commutable from Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois and parts of Wicklow and South Dublin as Safety EngineerYOUR NEW JOBCommutable from Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois and parts of Wicklow and South Dublin as Safety Engineer some of your key duties will include
- Deliver the projects in scope, budget and quality, with a strong focus on Safety
- Define project execution strategy
- Issue the specifications according to customer requirement, analyse suppliers offers, participate to the supplier selection and contracts preparation in close coordination with Purchasing Team
- Bring engineering expertise when needed to minimize risks and ensure safe design. Checks compliance to established procedures or protocols, and challenges
- Involves suppliers and plant team in detail engineering phases, safety design, factory acceptance tests, commissioning, final acceptance tests.
- Ensure efficient project control and reporting, and takes corrective actions
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOUTo be successful in the Safety Engineering job you’ll hold a mechanical engineering degree and you must have strong project management experience. You will have H & S knowledge (don’t need a formal H & S qualification as you will be trained up on the internal safety features and policies of my client) and a a strong background in CAD.You’ll also work well with people from different functions especially with the operators whose machines you will be accessing during this safety upgrade project.You will be working in an older plant with a lot of upgrades needed to bring the site up to compliance, so you’ll need to relish this sort of challenge and the job satisfaction that you’ll get from seeing your work come to fruition.As Safety Engineer/Project Manager you’ll also be working very closely with vendors /suppliers where you will be utilizing your engineering knowledge and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.WHATS IN IT FOR YOUThere is a competitive salary of up to 74kk+ plus a generous pension, life assurance and bonus structure and the opportunity to work in a very supportive H & S Manager. Once you are established in the role you’ll potentially have the chance to work to a hybrid model. The Safety Engineering role will initially be a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension.
