Your Responsibilities: 

  • Understand customer needs to provide solutions/value via Elanco products
  • Territory planning and analysis including account planning and budget management
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across teams with strong communication skills internally & externally
  • Advance business opportunities for customers and Elanco
  • Understand/learn complex customers/influencers within beef industry and food chain
  • Clear understanding of products, services and industry
  • Constantly curious and aware of learning opportunities
  • Data-driven, constantly benchmarking and understanding customer needs

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture or agricultural related field
  • Required Experience: 3+ years of experience and knowledge of the beef industry
  • Previous experience with Veterinary and/or Nutritional professions/industry
  • Previous sales experience with the beef industry experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

Additional Information: 

  • Travel: This territory will require extensive travel, approximately 2-3 nights per week
  • Location: Iowa (Central- Eastern Iowa strongly preferred)

Your Role: Regional Director, US Pet Health

As a Regional Director within the US Pet Health Veterinary Sales organization, you’ll lead a region of the organization which includes 10 District Sales Managers as direct reports and ~ 100 Sales Representatives as indirect reports. This region will cover and will set the strategic vision for their portion of the business. As the Pet Health organization embarks on a historic launch period, your leadership will be critical to the success of Elanco. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing high-performing sales teams, and developing strategic sales plans. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of the industry.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the region.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of District Managers and Sales Representatives to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, to align strategies and drive overall company growth.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive sales team development through training, coaching, and professional development initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, market changes, and emerging technologies to stay ahead in the market.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: Minimum of at least 10 years’ experience in companion animal veterinary pharmaceutical sales management. Preferred prior experience managing managers or equivalent.
  • Strong enterprise leadership skills to deliver maximum results
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Ability to travel both nationally for conferences/meetings as well as concentrated travel within the region.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $91,100.00 to $165,000.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above. Elanco reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion, and Elanco’s compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Elanco employees.
