The role encompasses both account executive and management responsibilities for a portfolio of (re)insurance companies.We will rely on you to:

  • Act as the main client contact and be responsible for the total management of portfolio of (re)insurance companies.
  • Proactively lead and co-ordinate the activities of the team allocated to each client account and be the focal point for the overall management of accounts, audit and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure that clients’ accounts (including statutory accounts) are produced and delivered in accordance with all relevant standards and agreed timetables.
  • Monitor and ensure that the business conducted by these companies is in compliance with relevant insurance and company legislation and corporate policies adopted by the directors.
  • Give guidance on compliance matters, such as Regulator expectations and feedback and experience of other client companies.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee work carried out by the Assistant Accountant allocated to each client company.
  • Maintain regular contacts with clients arranging meetings and Board meetings with Principals and agree agendas, travel, accommodation and entertaining arrangements
  • As leader of the account management team develop excellent working relationships with other team members
  • Work closely with insurance team colleagues on all matters concerning client premium receipts, premium tax and claims payments and reserving.
  • All information required by clients is delivered to them in accordance with agreed timetables
  • All quarterly and annual Solvency II regulatory returns are filed with the Central Bank of Ireland in accordance with filing deadlines
  • The revenue accounts and balance sheet are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the timetable laid down by the Principal
  • Monitor and report on client company investments
  • Ensure the timely completion and filing of client company tax returns
  • Oversee all company secretarial matters in conjunction with the appointed company secretary for each client company
  • Support and be responsible for negotiating & collecting fees with the Client Team Leader

What you will need to have:

  • Qualified Accountant with some years PQE
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with senior stakeholders i.e. MD/CFO
  • Ability to hit deadlines and exceed expectations
  • Ability to be commercially aware and help wider business identify service gaps.

What makes you stand out:

  • Accountancy experience
  • Strong understanding of EU solvency requirements and reporting.
  • Experience of managing large scale/long established client relationships/ business partnering – multinational company experience desirable.
