Job description
CREGG is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team within the hospitality sector based in Limerick City. In this role you will report directly to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for a weekly payroll of 200+ employee’s as well as manage the company’s accounts payable & accounts receivable. Please note this is a fulltime, onsite opportunity and will require the candidate to be in the office from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet.
- Control of the cash & banking function of the hotel through the maintenance of the daily income audit, monitoring of the cash handling procedures throughout the property and providing training where appropriate, managing petty cash & ordering and maintaining appropriate cash levels in the hotel.
- Accounts Payable – Maintenance of the hotel’s purchasing system, reconciliation of creditor statements and dealing with supplier queries.
- Safeguard the assets of the hotel with particular emphasis on the maintenance of sound internal control systems.
- Accounts Receivable – Ensure that the system of recording, invoicing and chasing of payments is carried out in an effective manner and that that the property’s debtors are tracked and monitored periodically.
- Ensuring all sales are recorded accurately and there is a robust system in place for highlighting issues, preparing daily sales KPI report for issuance to individual departments and recording of sales on various hotel computer information systems.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality, food & beverage environment or within the retail sector.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- We are looking for an ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
- Experience with credit control and purchasing ledger.
- Strong IT skills in implementing and operating accounting software.
- Experience with Opera and Micropay an advantage.
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft excel, outlook and word
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, excellent attention to detail, have high initiative and be result focused with an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Assist with projects as required.
