Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide input for the design, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems including VoIP, SIP, Unified Communications and Quality of Service (QoS)
  • Work with Cloud centric technologies, AWS Chime, and similar cloud technologies supporting telco.
  • Manage and troubleshoot complex telecom network infrastructure issues.
  • Document and drive issues through resolution, escalating to stake holders and IT management as necessary.
  • Monitor, maintain and document all our VoIP/TDM related platforms.
  • Configure and administer Virtual SBC and CUBE.
  • Work with telecom vendors and drive solutions needed to support a global footprint.
  • Develop and promote infrastructure technology standards through automation and service-based development.
  • Monitor traffic usage for customers and identify potential problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education

Prefer a 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

5 years in telecom enterprise level environment administrating VoIP Systems and SIP trunk services implementation

  • Experience with AWS Chime supporting telco in a global enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Connect & similar IVR technologies in Cloud.
  • Experience with advanced telecommunication systems including VoIP, SIP, and Unified Communications.
  • Expertise in the implementation of Unity, UCS, Cube, CUCM, UCCX and other telecom tools.
  • Experience with deployment of voice SBC in cloud, Oracle SBC preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive Knowledge of SIP, RTP/SRTP, Open SIPs
  • Hands on experience using Amazon Chime and similar SIP technologies.
  • Hands on experience with Session Border Controllers is a must.
  • Experience with Cloud SBCs/PSX is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of Wireshark or other IP protocol analyzers.
  • Experience with IP Networking, TCP/IP, UDP, TCP, NAT, VLAN, QoS etc.
  • Experience with Software defined SIP networking architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in Telecom and IVR Engineering and Administration.
  • Hands on experience supporting Open SIPS implementation.
  • Experience with Collaboration tools such as Cisco Webex, Amazon Chime, Microsoft Teams using voice integration.
  • Flexible schedule, including being available for on-call support.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal & written) and ability to communicate technical topics in an understandable form.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage projects successfully.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
