Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Dietitian, Full-TimeReports To: Dietitian ManagerJob Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Dietitian to join our clients team in Dublin to deliver exceptional dietetic and nutritional services to patients and their families. This role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and create individualized treatment plans for referred patients in line with hospital policy.
  • Document all assessments, treatments, and follow-ups in patient records.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to support patient care.
  • Provide education and guidance through individual consultations and group teaching sessions.

Departmental Duties:

  • Manage and prioritize workload to deliver a thorough dietetic service independently and effectively.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development within the Dietetic Department.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational resources for patients and professionals.
  • Participate in reviewing and updating departmental policies, procedures, and care plans.
  • Deliver nutrition education to staff as required.
  • Maintain accurate statistical records and adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Attend staff meetings and engage in continuous professional development through courses, seminars, and literature.
  • Support other duties as assigned by the Dietitian Manager.

Hospital Duties:

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to uphold high standards of patient care.
  • Exhibit the hospital’s core values in all interactions with patients and staff.
  • Participate in mandatory training and adhere to hospital policies.

Person Specification:Essential Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • M.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • CORU registration or equivalent qualification validated by CORU.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification clinical experience, ideally in:
  • Gastroenterology, particularly IBS management.
  • Oncology.
  • Endocrinology, including Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes (desirable), PCOS (desirable), and insulin resistance (desirable).
  • Weight management/obesity.
  • Previous experience with FODMAP training and outpatient care is essential.
