Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Senior HR Manager with a strong background in managing HR operations within industrial services, logistics, retail, hospitality, or similar high-volume, low-paid workforce sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead HR initiatives, manage a growing team, and oversee employee relations within a dynamic work environment. You will join the senior management team, where your contributions to strategic planning and day-to-day HR operations will support the company’s expansion and operational goals.The successful candidate will bring at least five years of relevant experience, a practical understanding of Irish employment law, and expertise in employee relations (ER), industrial relations (IR), and . This position is ideal for an HR professional who is skilled in balancing strategic oversight with hands-on management, ensuring timely and effective support to operational teams.Key Responsibilities
- HR Team Leadership: Manage an HR team consisting of two HR Generalists and one HR Administrator, providing mentorship and direction to meet operational demands.
- Employee and Industrial Relations (ER & IR): Handle disciplinary and grievance processes, manage investigations, and ensure swift resolution of issues, fostering a collaborative and compliant work environment.
- Committee Representation: Represent the company on the CCC and JLC, advocating company perspectives and contributing to sector-wide employment discussions.
- Compliance and Policy Management: Oversee adherence to employment regulations, manage documentation, and develop policies aligned with Irish legislation and industry standards.
- TUPE & Union Matters: Actively manage TUPE processes during acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions for employees. Address union-related issues and negotiations as needed.
- Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) Compliance: Maintain knowledge of WRC guidelines and implement best practices for compliant HR operations.
- Acquisition Integration: Prepare for the integration of 600-700 additional employees due to an upcoming acquisition, collaborating with senior management to ensure a seamless transition.
- Operational Responsiveness: Deliver prompt HR support, ensuring issue resolution within one day to prevent operational disruptions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in HR Management: Proven expertise in managing HR operations, particularly in high-volume, service-based sectors.
- Strong Knowledge of Irish Employment Law: Practical experience with WRC guidelines, employee rights, ER, IR, and TUPE.
- Union Environment Experience: Background in handling union negotiations and related compliance is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS: High computer literacy, particularly in HR software systems, documentation, and database management.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to engage with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- High Attention to Detail and Resilience: Ability to manage sensitive HR matters with tact and maintain composure under pressure.
- Professional Qualification in HR (CIPD Preferred): A CIPD or equivalent HR qualification is highly desirable.
- Strategic Mindset with Operational Focus: Ability to participate in strategic planning and drive day-to-day HR support effectively.
