Senior IT Network Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT Network Engineer at our Corporate Office in Cleveland, OH. The Senior IT Network Engineer will oversee the continued optimization of network services for (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, wireless, data circuits, firewalls, and security). The Senior IT Network Engineer will work with a team of talented network engineers and will support Cleveland-Cliffs enterprise-wide network infrastructure. In addition to contributing to Cliff’s digital transformation efforts, this role will have the opportunity for career advancement by gaining invaluable experience in shaping the future of our IT Infrastructure and Network Security operations.

Summary of Responsibilities: 

• Drive the continual improvement within the network infrastructure and team
• Support the standardization and centralization of network technology and architecture across the company.
• Manage and improve the network infrastructure for a large complex organization
• Serve as one of the primary support engineers for the Wide Area Network (WAN).
• Help to define and create standards for the network infrastructure.
• Able to support a 24/7/365 fast paced and rapidly evolving environment
• Be available during situations such as emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments
• Travel to other Cliffs locations as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience working in a Network Engineering capacity
• Understanding of Network Architecture methodologies with emphasis on Cisco networking configuration and management
• Must be adept in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, route redistribution and ARP.
• Must be a lifelong learner with a positive attitude and growth mindset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment on large or complex projects required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with network automation solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking
