Job Description:How you will contribute
- Making sure the engineering function is aligned with the operations team and other support functions. Ensuring engineering is aligned and contributes towards the overall strategy and objectives of DP World.
- Lead teams of Engineers to ensure departmental deliverables are achieved, potentially across multiple sites
- Contribute to the development and implementation of regional initiatives
- Identify innovations and best practices; evaluate and quantify its cost & benefits; communicate and roll out to plants
- Ensure department metrics and reporting are produced and developed to satisfy senior management requirements on time and in full
- Work with plant teams to continually monitor and review MTM based headcount plan versus actual to ensure alignment is maintained
- Ensure clear and quantifiable data is available to show contribution to business made by individuals and function as a whole
- Contribute towards the development and delivery of long-term engineering strategy to ensure continual development of function and the delivery of best practice solutions across site
- Act as a “trouble shooter” when required, identify pinch points or problem areas, ensure root cause analysis is completed where appropriate and corrective measures are implemented into operations
- Ensure all process developments are tested and implemented in line with approval processes to the operation in a seamless fashion.
- Representing the engineering team internally and with customer as required
- Able to work independently and under own initiative on any site, ensuring the delivery of engineering obligations / requirements as dictated by region engineering management and local plant management
- Support in the training and developing of plant-based engineering teams and embed regional standards within sites.
- Act as a subject matter expert for function and ensure expertise and knowledge is shared with plant-based teams
- Develop, manage, and ensure effective delivery of engineering elements of BPI projects, Continuous improvement initiatives and Site launches
What you will bring
- Ideally educated to degree level in a related discipline
- Use of customer owned PPS process using the “5 Why’s”, “Fish Bone” and team inputs to establish root cause analysis and implementation of short, medium and long term counter measures.
- Ability to understand and interpret data and draw appropriate conclusions.
- Lean and Six Sigma practitioner
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Ability to empathise and understand client’s viewpoint and requirements and act as there champion within engineering function
- Ability to interpret data and derive solid conclusions from analysis.
- Possess strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel, & PowerPoint. Familiarity of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Strong project management and operational experience.
- Strong leadership and change management skills. Willingness to roll up sleeves, get the job done and perform other duties as required
