Senior Manager – Telecom, Avangrid Service Company, Rochester, NY: 

Lead Avangrid Digitalization Program teams in the Telecoms area (engineering, installation, and deployment while implementing controls and ensuring KPI reporting) following the Program and global guidelines. Ensure operational integrity, resilience, and reliable performance of telecom services to serve business operational needs. Efficiently and effectively deliver the budget (CAPEX and OPEX) according to Digitalization Program plan. Direct telecommunications projects, ensure compliance with common telecommunications standards and implement best practices for excellent telecommunication service across all operating companies. Oversee project engineering and field deployment related primarily fiber optic cable construction and wireless communication equipment. Implement the company’s 2030 Vision by pushing towards a Smart Grid that will provide more telecom connectivity to devices, allowing for more information to be gathered from the grid. Oversee the execution of telecoms digitalization investment plans. Lead development and justification of expenditure plans on fiber optic cable construction and wireless communications equipment. Promote global exchange regarding telecom best practices and standards with other Iberdrola countries (UK, Brazil, Spain) and develop/benefits from bi-directional collaboration. Engage in daily coordination with the other areas of the Digitalization Program. Manage a wide range of telecommunications suppliers and contractors. Keep abreast of changes in telecommunications that may have technical and economic impacts on Avangrid business digitalization. Work with internal departments (Customer Service, Processes & Technology, IT, HR, Gas and Electric Operations) in order to direct process change implementation. 

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $167,648.04 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field and 8 years of related work experience in Telecoms and Utility Operations or Engineering.

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in IP networking. 

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: 

• Leading a team of professionals, including engineers and project managers;
• Managing wide area network (WAN) telecommunications construction projects;
• Working within a Global company and coordinating with Global counterparts; and
• Managing over $5 million CAPEX budget.

Domestic travel required up to 5%.
