Job Description:About the role:We are looking for a Global Senior Marketing Communications Manager, Intellectual Property to join our Business Development team.As a Global Senior Marketing Communications Manager, Intellectual Property you will work alongside the Global Senior Business Development Manager, Intellectual Property to deliver a holistic approach to BD and marketing for the Firm’s IP services across all jurisdictions. Along with this you will also provide support when required to the International Board to help communicate IB projects and initiatives to the combined firm.The main purpose of this role is to:

  • Raise awareness of Gowling WLG’s global and regional IP capabilities (breadth and depth) in all relevant jurisdictions to attract high quality leads to the top of the sales funnel and convert to contacts.
  • Engage and nurture the new contacts using marketing and communications techniques.
  • Deliver consistency in the IP team’s global and regional marcomms activity and messaging.
  • Support the consistent delivery of brand profile and messages.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to work collaboratively with a network to create and execute distinctive events, activities, and experiences. They should also have outstanding organizational and project management abilities, including prioritizing tasks and managing stringent deadlines.It is vital to demonstrate experience of successfully dealing with and influencing senior people, including partners and key external stakeholders. You will be required to collaborate with varying individuals across the firm so will be required to work with the events teams in relevant offices to deliver events according to local processes and procedures.You will present a willingness to develop and learn as where relevant, you will undertake training to operate CRM systems and other events-related software, develop copy for invitations, build contact lists for event invites and run virtual events.To this role you will bring/be a:

  • Demonstrable team player and advocate of the firm’s values.
  • Able to rapidly build an internal and external network.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to think strategically and put plans into action.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the clients’ world.
  • Enthusiasm to work autonomously when required as well as within a team.
