DIR IT NETWORK AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Summary

The Director of IT Network & Telecommunications plays a crucial role in overseeing the network and telecommunications infrastructure of the organization. This position focuses on managing network and telecommunication, cloud strategies, integrations (especially following mergers and acquisitions), and leading teams. The director is responsible for ensuring seamless integration of network & telecommunication Cisco Systems (switches routers, access points, firewall security, Call Center Technologies, Unified Communications, etc.), optimizing cloud services, and providing technical leadership. The role requires a forward-thinking approach to develop and implement network & telecommunication strategies that support the organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  1. Team management: Directly manages a team of leader-level staff members with direct reports including interviewing and hiring, staff development, functional definition, work assignment and mentoring. Monitors staff performance, conducts performance evaluations, and provides coaching for performance improvement and development. Addresses performance deficiencies in accordance with Froedtert Health’s policies.
  2. Team development: Plays a key role in the development and improvement of the team structure for optimal team performance. Forward thinking to develop or refine the team structure that can both foster staff growth and development and effectively support service delivery and system support. Ensures a productive work environment by providing appropriate professional and educational development and mentoring for all team members in order to provide high levels of customer service, within budgetary guidelines. Works to create an environment of trust and high morale, and strong ongoing communications. Collaborates with next level leaders to clarify team roles and responsibilities. Develops, implements and maintains processes and communication channels to assure optimal customer service. Proactively identifies and initiates process improvement tasks. Manages more complex process issues and risks. Escalates appropriately.
  3. Technical Leadership: Manage a team of engineers (employees and contractors) who provide network support, network engineering and network architecture services in a 24x7x365 healthcare environment. Provide technical leadership and vision, mentoring, coaching, career development and feedback for performance management. Lead the integration of network and telecommunications systems post-M&A activities, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption. Oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based and on premise Cisco network & telecommunication services. Ensure technical staffing levels, training, and certification requirements are met. Build infrastructure for optimal network performance, security, and scalability.
  4. Communication and Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to support their network and telecommunications needs. Maintain close communication with vendors to ensure project requirements are met. Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  5. Network and Telecommunications Management: Define and implement network strategies to support the organization’s cloud journey, integration needs and current LAN, WAN architecture. Manage the optimization of network infrastructure, ensuring high levels of performance and security. Oversee the deployment of network & telecommunications systems and manage their maintenance and upgrades.

Other Information

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Ten (10) years of relevant technical experience is required including time in a formal leadership position.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Experience with cloud integration, especially in the context of M&A activities. Advanced working knowledge of network infrastructure and telecommunications systems. Experience in managing large-scale network projects and cloud migrations. Understanding of cloud strategies and developing roadmaps in support of them..

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required.

EDUCATION PREFERRED: Master’s Degree is preferred.

technical design and implementation. Ability to function effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands and crisis management. Demonstrates continuous improvement, quality methodology and project/operations delivery skills. Strong leadership skills and demonstrates creative problem-solving skills. Demonstrates strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to depict technical information conceptually, logically and physically. Excellent communication skills across all levels; ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group. Strong customer

management and negotiation skills and the ability to mediate opposing viewpoints and articulate the advantages of a technology solution.
