Senior Network Engineer

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Network & Cloud Engineer to join our Production Engineering Team in New York.

The Production Engineering division is responsible for providing innovative processes and tools for the operation of Tower’s trading platforms. 

Responsibilities

• Participating in the design of network automation for provisioning, configuration management, telemetry, and deployment
• Code review
• Working with the global Networks team to monitor and troubleshoot the network
• Providing network support for production, office, and end-user environments
• Performing moves, adds, and changes in the network
• Performing market connectivity tests and circuit migrations
• Providing support, and technical expertise, and taking the lead for Cloud related issues and projects
• Assisting the data center and projects team with data center migrations from time-to-time

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in both Networking and Cloud technologies, with at least 6 years of experience in Networking, and at least 2 years in Cloud.

Network Expertise

• Knowledge of virtualization technologies
• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting large networks
• Knowledge of client-server architecture
• Knowledge of Arista EOS and Cisco NX-OS/IOS
• Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, MSDP, and PIM
• Knowledge of VPN configuration and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of datacenter installation and cabling standards
• Exposure to multicast environments
• CCNP certified and Systems administration experience (preferred)

Network Automation Experience

• Experience building tools for infrastructure automation using Python
• Experience with Netmiko, Napalm, and Nornir network libraries
• Experience with network configuration management tools similar to Ansible or Salt
• Experience with configuration templating tools (CUE or Jinja)
• Knowledge of DCIM/IPAM tools similar to Netbox or Nautobot

Cloud Experience

• Knowledge of Cloud Networking Technology: AWS, GCP, Azure, Internet Gateways (IGW’s), Virtual Private Networks (VPN’s),Virtual Private Cloud(VPC) , Transit Gateways
• Knowledge of Unix or Linux
• Knowledge of network support tools such as MRTG, Graphite, Nagios, and SNMP (preferred)
• Knowledge of Hybrid and Cloud Networking along with Cloud Native Security Technologies
• Experience on large scale infrastructure private and public cloud design, build, operate and migration projects
• Hands on experience with AWS/ Alicloud/Azure and/or GCP
• AWS certified (preferred)

Candidate should also be able to:

• Take part in an on-call rotation schedule
• Liaise with third parties to maintain telecommunication circuits and data center infrastructure
• Work with internal teams to make both logical and physical moves, adds, and changes to the global network

Anticipated annual base salary range $150,000- $220,000 plus eligible for discretionary bonus
