Senior Network Engineer, Google Enterprise Networking

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design, and troubleshooting, working with network equipment providers.
• Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
• Experience with WAN technologies/protocols in three or more of the following: SR/MPLS, BGP, MACsec, IPsec, SDWAN, inter-domain IP Routing Policy, DWDM and TCP/IP. Encryption, key management, zone based network segmentation.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certifications in CCIE/CCDE/JNCIE or equivalent experience.
• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
• knowledge of Linux.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Provide technical and thought leadership to improve the whole lifecycle of Google’s Enterprise network from inception and design, to qualification and validation through deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Multiply the effectiveness of the team through design reviews, technical mentoring, and career development support.
• Scale systems sustainably through tools and automation, and evolve systems by driving change that improves reliability and velocity.
• Work with other teams to analyze requirements or potential problems and develop solutions and policy recommendations.
• Lead development of Google’s Enterprise Network infrastructure through published engineering design documents and specifications. Drive solution delivery, from requirements analysis and innovative engineering design to efficient development, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
