Senior Network Engineer, Google Enterprise Networking

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in the Networking Design and Network Test Automation.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
• Experience in identifying network problems.
• Experience in developing and automating networking products, technologies, software and protocols, writing networking automation.
• Experience in designing and implementing lab networks that match a production environment, developing tools for device configuration and debugging, and designing tests.

The Network Engineering team is responsible for designing and operating that network reliably and at scale.

In this role, you will partner with network operations, collecting feedback and monitoring performance, to ensure designs and solutions are safe and efficient. You make continual improvements to ensure Google’s network infrastructure meets the needs of customers. Google’s complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Keeping the network reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services.

Responsibilities

• Define and describe network problems , write documents to describe test plans and procedures,execute and publish results of test plans or process documentation for Google-wide use.
• Own outcomes for multiple large projects or a single mission-critical project as a key individual contributor and by influencing the contributions of others.
• Develop project road-map, establish project goals, coordinate resources, and provide technical leadership, in line with objectives, with direction from leaders where needed.
• Establish timelines and project plans for simple features and see them through completion.
• Mentor and act as a technical resource for team members (e.g., guide others on feature testing, advise on integration of technical efforts and approaches to test design).
