Job Title: Senior Manager, R&D, GalwayApplication Closing Date: 8th May 2024Industry: Medical DevicesJob Purpose:As a Senior Manager of R&D, you will oversee the research and development activities, focusing on enhancing product manufacturing processes and technology development. You will be instrumental in driving innovations and maintaining rigorous standards in the development of electronic medical devices and single-use mechanical devices.Key Responsibilities:As a Senior R&D Manager, you will:

• Lead talent acquisition, training, and development within the R&D department.
• Encourage a diverse and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
• Maintain the company’s vision and values in all strategic decisions.
• Develop and implement operational policies that impact multiple project groups.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external standards and regulations.
• Manage the department’s budget, including OPEX, CAPEX, and HCT.
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships across various departments to support company objectives.
• Oversee the mechanical test lab’s preparation and compliance for all audits.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree (NFQ Level 8), with a Master’s degree preferred (NFQ Level 9).
• At least 10 years of industrial experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity within large teams.
• Proven background in a regulated environment, preferably in the biomedical sector.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex R&D projects and strategic initiatives.
• Solid understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the medical device industry.
