- Cloud Engineering and Support: The Senior Site Reliability Infrastructure Cloud Engineer will support engineering tasks for multiple cloud applications in both AWS and GCP, covering both Deploying, Configuration and Operational Instrumentation of our Data Platforms in AWS and GCP
- Solution Deployment: Will plan, configure, and deploy our Data Platform solution in GCP and AWS, ensuring optimal integration and efficiency
- Automation and Operations: Responsible for automating the build through CI/CD and configuration of IaaS & PaaS based solutions in Google Cloud Platform and AWS using Terraform to drive to full automated build and deployment and Instrumentation using Splunk and other tools to ensure our application and Infrastructure are monitored/logged/observed, aiming for resiliency, efficiency and scalability
- Release and Change Management: Will support Release, Incident, and Change management for our GCP applications, including managing DevOps and CI/CD pipeline work to ensure smooth deployment and operations
- Strategic Evaluation: Evaluates and recommends suitable engineering strategies for onboarding greenfield and brownfield applications to GCP and migrating from AWS to GCP, focusing on optimizing them for performance and cost over time
- Innovation and Collaboration: Will contribute ideas and insights to develop new technologies, proofs of concept, best practices, or procedures that are both innovative and practical and collaborate and be part of our Software Development Engineering Team. Also expected to display excellent communication and interactive skills with teams across geographies, and the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team
About you:
- Experience and Education: A minimum of 6+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Cloud Platform Expertise: At least 2+ years of working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or AWS and 6+ years in the cloud domain. Experience hosting applications on GCP or AWS using Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Composer, Cloud Storage is essential
- Technical Skills: A good understanding of cloud design considerations and their impact on scalability, resiliency and pricing, proficiency in a modern scripting language (preferably Python and Java) for build automation, and experience with Big Data on GCP and AWS desirable. Must have a good understanding of Unix/Linux networking and operating systems
- Container and CI/CD Technology: Prior experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, version control systems (e.g., BitBucket, GitHub), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Harness), monitoring tools (e.g., NewRelic, Splunk, Cloud Watch/Cloud Trail) and SonarQube nice to have
- Infrastructure Management: Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools such as Terraform, SaltStack, and expertise in networking principles, VPC, Load Balancer, Cloud DNS, Google Stackdriver
- Certifications and Specializations: Advanced level certifications in public Cloud (AWS/GCP) are preferable. Certifications in DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Big Data, and other related areas are highly desirable. GCP Cloud Architect certification nice to have
- Strategic Planning and Development: Should have prior experience in developing effort estimates, project plans, budget estimates, and roadmaps. Experience working with complex data platforms, Data Management areas (e.g., data ingestion, transformation, quality, processing, delivery, security), and familiarity with Snowflake and Java-heavy application landscapes would be beneficial
