At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Global IT Systems Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

System Engineer (all genders) Network and Network Security

Fulltime and permanent

Responsibilities:

• Develop and plan scalable, secure network infrastructures.
• Evaluate and select network hardware and software to meet business needs.
• Install and configure network solutions, including cabling and device setup.
• Conduct tests to ensure functionality and security.
• Monitor network performance and security using appropriate tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform regular security reviews and audits.
• Automate tasks such as configuration management and updates using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Document network topologies, configurations, and infrastructure changes.
• Integrate various components into existing infrastructures.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, optimizing system performance and reliability.
• Ensure systems meet quality standards through regular maintenance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Experience in network security, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S).
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption (SSL, PKI), and penetration testing.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for task automation.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in risk analysis.
• Ability to document technical matters clearly and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
