JMC Aviation are working with a MRO company based in Birmingham, looking to recruit a new Sheet Metal Mechanic to join their team.This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham.Working 0700 – 1900 on a 5/5/4/ day shift patternSalary and Benefits– Competitive Salary– Annual Bonus– 25 days annual leave entitlement + bank holidays– 4x Life assurance– 4% Employer pension contribution– Sick pay starts from first day at 3 weeks full and 3 weeks half pay, after a years’ service this increases to 6 weeks full and 6 weeks half. 5 years + 12 weeks full, 12 weeks half.– Service awards from 2 yearsThe RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to fabricate, assemble and repair sheet metal products, reporting to and working with the leading mechanic/certifier as allocated.Other duties involve:– Removal and installation of major aircraft structural sections, in accordance with approved documentation.– Working to fine tolerances and high standards as defined by the approved documentation.– Upholding high standards of safety and housekeeping for yourself and others.– Adhering to all company procedures.Skills and experience required.In order to be successful in this role the Sheet Metal Mechanic will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:– Completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship, production or Live aircraft.– Extensive aircraft and structures/repairs experience.– Demonstratable experience in aircraft modification/production/maintenance in a Part 145 MRO environment.– Experienced and capable of reading and understanding manufacturers drawings and SRMs.– Knowledge of MS Office applications.– Eligible to work in the UK.If you think this is the role for you and you have the necessary skills and attributes, please apply today or contact JMC Aviation for more details.Please note that due to the high level of applicants we will only be contacting shortlisted candidates regarding this role.For this opportunity JMC Aviation Ltd is acting as an employment agency.
