SITEC – Senior Network Engineer

Peraton requires Senior Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located at Hurlburt Field in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide

USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network

Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Senior Network Engineer performs Tier three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Sr. Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. The Engineer must have extensive experience in network design, implementation and maintenance. This experience will include but is not limited to LAN/WAN interfacing, static and dynamic routing, access control, network security, and LAN switching for data and voice networks over both wired and wireless mediums. This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The Sr. Engineer is responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of the network. Participation in working groups, design reviews and system tests are required. This position will help generate assessments, as well as develop and implement actionable recommendations based on reviews. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. The Sr. Network Engineer must keep his or her technical skills updated. Engineers should study vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government’s needs. Senior Network Engineer is also a leadership role and provides guidance and direction to junior network support technicians.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership and direction to team of technicians providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
• Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
• Provides leadership in the review of existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
• Overseeing systems engineering with a focus on the end-to-end functionality of complex systems of
• Oversee the network performance of disaster recovery and backup/restore.
• Reviewing, editing, publishing, and maintaining documentation and diagrams of engineering and design activities in agreed upon and accepted industry standard format.
• Supporting efforts for cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity, and A&A support documentation in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
• Oversee the maintenance of LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
• Providing leadership support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing networking.
• This position has after-hours and on call responsibilities for incident handling and maintenance windows.

Education and Experience:

• HS 12-14 years of experience, BS and 8-10 years of experience, MS and 6-8 years of experience, PhD and 3-5 years of experience. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a Mathematics-intensive discipline, or a similar field. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Several years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems and network engineering, including two years of specialized experience related to the candidate’s assigned task.
• DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher is required.
• DoDD 01-M IAT Level II required AND two of the following certifications are preferred
• CCNP Security
• CCNP Collaboration
• CCNP Data Center
• CCNP Enterprise with one specialist concentration
• CCNP Enterprise with a secondary specialist concentration
• CCDP
• CCIoT
• CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
• Juniper Networks Certified Specialist
• Riverbed Certified Performance Engineering Professional
