Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.Software EngineerThales Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) UK is a principal supplier of Unmanned Air Systems (UAS), Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar equipment to the UK armed forces, as well as an exporter of these capabilities world-wide.We are growing and are looking for 2 Software Engineers to join our team in Crawley, with opportunities to collaborate with Thales sites in the UK and overseas.You’ll participate in issue investigation to deliver high quality products and services. Following, convey and seek to improve related best practices, with a focus on user experience.Working within in a Scrum team with other software developers, in Agile mode contributing to the requirement definition, to the software design and you will be involved with the architectural aspects of the software projects
Integrate software components into a fully functional software systemYour expertise will be called upon to write well-designed, documented and testable codeDevelop, test and execute full software development life cycleMake estimations and give inputs for planning together with the team members
Collaborate with other software solutions engineer to share knowledge and improve overall product/solutionAs a Thales Software Engineer, you will also help develop the next-generation of technologies, for which we are world-renowned.We are a forward looking business that develops cutting edge products:Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) which are revolutionising modern warfare Radars that are capable of detecting foot prints in the grass when someone has walked across a field Digital Radar Electronic Support Measures (RESM) that provides situational awareness and identify threats even in busy Electronic Transmission Environments Radar Electronic Countermeasures (RECM) that can protect assets by denying tactical advantage and distracting incoming threats.We are looking for Software Engineers with:

  • Experience in full software lifecycle (requirements, development, test, integration)
  • Responsibility for the delivery of software components / solutions
  • Appreciation of the software life cycle and processes.
  • DOORS
  • UML / Rational Rhapsody
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 / 2005, QT
  • Jira / Subversion / GIT
  • Microsoft Windows 10 / 7 / XP, Server 2016 / 2003, Linux
  • Customer Acceptance
  • Desirable – Knowledge of Agile – Scrum / Kanban
