This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the recovery and rehabilitation of service users with pelvic and perinatal health conditions.We are an established fast follower currently implementing the improvements driven by NHS Englands development of Perinatal Pelvic Health Services across the country and so it is an exciting time to join our team at Barnsley. Our team leads local delivery of the national NHS Long Term Plans ambition to improve prevention, identification, and referral to NICE-recommended treatment for pelvic health problems during pregnancy and at least one year following birth. This is along side management of other general pelvic health conditions.Main duties of the jobThe interview date for this role is Wednesday 12th March 2025As a Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist you will work as part of a supportive and dynamic team to provide physiotherapy services for the treatment of pelvic and perinatal health conditions, including musculoskeletal issues in pregnancy and first year postnatal.You will undertake specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients with complex presentations and formulate a clinical diagnosis and Physiotherapy treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner.With regular supervision from experienced Advanced Physiotherapists you will develop highly specialised clinical skills working both on an individual basis and in group settings providing advice and preventative education for minimising risk of developing pelvic health and pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditionsAbout usPlease note that the Trust reserves the right to close a position early.Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing Trust achieving a Good rating in our most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment and achieving significant progress in the delivery of our strategic objectives.   • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and training in relevant area
  • Experience of Evidence Based Practice and Risk Assessment
  • Out of hours working expected including weekends
  • Participation in on call duties

  • Experience of audit/research
  • Experience in the NHS in the UK as a qualified physiotherapist
  • Member of specialist interest group
  • Experience of supervision of support workers
  • Experience in antenatal and postnatal classes
