Job Description Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist with development and delivery of peer tutoring services in STEM, Business, and select other disciplines, under the supervision of the Coordinator, UC/Academic Enhancement Center (Tutoring Programs).
Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with development and administration of training programs for tutors and receptionists.
Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training of peer tutors.
Monitor tutors’ progress toward completing staff development requirements, and advise them on their work through staff observation.
Schedule and assist in supervision of tutoring staff in drop-in center and appointment based settings.
Assist with scheduling and administration of all forms of STEM/BUS and other tutoring.
Assist with program planning, assessment, data collection and evaluation.
Attend to tutoring center spaces: ensure that space is well-supplied, orderly, and that the technology is functioning properly.
Assist tutors and students with technology related needs pertaining to the online tutorial modality.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with student staff payroll.
Assist with reception administration function, as needed.
Assist all Center Coordinators with outreach to classrooms, at campus events, and representing the AEC to the community.
Regularly contribute to the AEC social media pages, platforms, and website.
Assist with tutorial observations and feedback, as needed.
Learn and administer the TracCloud Software functions daily.
Perform other duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Personal computers, printers; word processing, database and spreadsheet software, Google Workspace.
Required QualificationsREQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of two years’ experience as a peer or professional tutor or learning center employee (part-time work included).
3. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated organizational skills.
6. Demonstrated supervisory experience.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
8. Demonstrated experience and dedication to integrating issues of inclusion, equity and social justice in your work.
Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED:
1. Master’s degree in a higher education, student personnel or related field.
2. Demonstrated experience with data collection and analysis.
3. Demonstrated experience in a Learning Center environment with exposure to course connected learning assistance models, peer-led learning support, and knowledge of tutorial best practices.
