Inviting applications for the role of Sr. Principal Consultant – Network Engineer – F5 Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled F5 Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with F5 Networks technologies, including Load Balancers, Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), and related security features. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and support of our F5 infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain F5 load balancing and application delivery solutions in a multi-datacenter environment.
  • Configuration Management: Configure F5 Load Balancers, including LTM (Local Traffic Manager), GTM (Global Traffic Manager), ASM (Application Security Manager), APM (Access Policy Manager), and AFM (Advanced Firewall Manager).
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor performance and health of F5 appliances and software, diagnosing and resolving network and application issues.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for automation of repetitive tasks and F5 configuration management using tools like iRules, Python, Ansible, or other network automation tools.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage F5 security features to protect network and application traffic, including SSL offloading, web application firewalls (WAF), and DDoS protection.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with application teams, network architects, and other IT departments to support the delivery of secure and scalable network services.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for network configuration, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Upgrade and Patch Management: Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize F5 configurations for improved performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Compliance: Ensure F5 deployments comply with security and operational policies and standards.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience in network engineering with a focus on F5 technologies.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing F5 BIG-IP products (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, etc.).
  • Experience in network design and architecture, including high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 Certified Technical Specialist (F5-CTS) is preferred.
  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS).
  • Proficiency in iRules, Python scripting, or other automation tools.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Strong communicator – English in spoken and written form
  • Experience with On-Prem and Cloud-based F5 deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices and standards.
