My client is expanding their London office and looking for talented engineers to join their team.Key skills required for this role“Structural Engineer” and “Rail”ImportantStructural EngineerJob descriptionOur client, a leading consultancy in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer to join their team in London. This is a full-time, permanent role offering you an exciting opportunity to work in the rail industry.Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of concept, schematic, and detailed designs for a variety of civil structures
  • Undertaking detailed analysis, design computations, and running complex models and constructability reviews
  • Preparation of sketches and technical reports
  • Peer review of detailed calculations, technical reports, and design concepts
  • Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants and clients
  • Participation in internal design team meetings and external meetings with clients and other consultants
  • Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice
  • Guiding and liaising with design teams of engineers and drafters to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Identifying opportunities for follow-on work, developing proposals and bids on small to medium scale projects, and supporting bids and proposal development on large-scale projects

Job Requirements:

  • Strong structural design skills and an understanding of civil engineering principles
  • Experience in civils/heavy civils/structural/bridge design
  • Experience with structural software such as MIDAS, LUSAS, or Strand
  • Desirable geotechnical skills
  • Ability to produce detailed design computations and technical reports
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Membership in a relevant engineering institution
