Who We Are:Muiríosa Foundation supports individuals (and their families) with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live self-directed, connected and fulfilling lives. Currently we employ over 1,400 staff and support people in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Longford, Kildare, Tipperary, Kilkenny. We provide supports through the Regional structure and the Person Centred Wing . Each region exercises a high level of devolved autonomy across all major operational functions including residential homes, day supports, respite. The Person Centred Wing offers the opportunity to have someone work with you who comes with an exclusively individualised focus on getting to know you and figuring out what needs to happen so that you get the opportunity to create the life you want for yourself. Refer to the for further information.There are administration centres in each of the regions of the organisation.Description:SUPPORT WORKERLAOIS DAY SERVICESPERMANENT FULL TIME CONTRACT(78 Hours per Fortnight)We are seeking to recruit a motivated, creative, calm and energetic Support Worker with excellent communication skills to join our Adult Laois Day Services team. The focus of this role will be to support people to realise their vision to leading a good life through Person Centred approaches in line with personal interests, skills, will and preference. Key to this role will be the ability to support people to become connected with their community, provide new experiences, skills teaching and opportunities to develop relationships and to develop meaningful valued social roles.Requirements:

  • FETAC/QQI level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Health Service Skills, or equivalent;
  • Experience of delivering quality supports with achievable outcomes;
  • Knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards and Person Centred Plans;
  • Excellent communication and I.T. Skills;
  • Good reports written and electronic;
  • Knowledge and Experience in Autism
  • Lone working/Individual Support & the ability to work as part of team
  • Full Current Manual Driving Licence;
  • Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.
