Sustainability Advisor – Food and Agriculture SME
Background
Are you passionate and experienced in working on challenging projects in sustainability/ESG reporting, sustainable supply chains, and agri-food systems? Do you like to identify opportunities for transformation and drive change?
We have an opening on our North America Sustainability team for a Sustainability Advisor who is a Food and Agriculture SME. You will be a member of Cognizant’s rapidly growing Sustainability Practice, identifying sustainability opportunities at Fortune 500 companies and participating in impactful projects that help clients to leverage digital technologies to better meet their sustainability ambitions.
We are looking for a Food and Agriculture SME with strong sustainability experience to join our team to help client. The key responsibilities are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Lead client facing conversations related to topics such as: sustainable supply chains (e.g. transparency and traceability), sustainable agri-food systems, regulatory compliance (CSRD, EUDR etc) and ESG data management and strategy, with a focus on food and beverage, agriculture commodities, retail, consumer goods industries
- Lead and support business and data strategy projects as the supply chain sustainability expert, examining key opportunities across an array of client sustainability program maturity levels. This will require adaptability and an ability to identify with the client where they stand to set an attainable sustainability roadmap
- Encourage forward thinking solutions and a collaborative communication environment to achieve business buy in
- Support internal business development and sales teams in formulating the value propositions around ESG data management, sustainable supply chains and agri-food systems
- Develop key partnerships with external organizations for enhancement of offerings and solutions for sustainable supply chains
- Partner with the sustainability team to create accelerators and high value reusable assets (e.g. content, thought leadership) that Cognizant can bring to client engagement
Qualifications
- Experience developing sustainability programs to help clients or key stakeholders to achieve their sustainability goals, specifically with large food and agriculture, retail, or consumer goods corporations
- Client focused, detail-oriented, organized and independent thinker who is an expert in trends in sustainability legislation, industry and innovation
- Proven success engaging with clients to identify opportunities for digital technology to help clients to achieve their sustainability goals
- Familiarity with CSO sustainability reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, etc.)
- Experience influencing across organization levels, including with senior management
- Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills
- 10 years professional experience working in the sustainability space with large corporations
- BS or MS in agricultural or environmental science, MBA preferred
Location: this role can be located anywhere in the USA, Canada or Mexico.
Expected travel: 15%
Work Authorization
Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Compensation: – Average $130K+/- and this position are also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted till 10/07/2024
