Based in Leuven, Belgium, the head-quarter of the European Research Institute we are looking for a System Architecture Expert.Job responsibilities:
Develop System Architecture and in-house System-Technology Co-optimization (STCO) Roadmap
Keeping up to date on recent developments in the field and making in-depth technical reports and presentations. You do this by studying literature and interacting with your colleagues and partners regularly
Understanding the architectural/performance modelling and simulation framework for compute and memory sub-systems (cache/main memory/storage) of a SoC/2.5D/3D IC design and be able to use it
Evaluate the impact of partitioning, device, technology on SoC design, by leveraging hybrid integration solutions to scale specific parts of an SoC more efficiently. Explore dedicated AI systems which will drive emerging memory and technology benchmarking against state-of-the-art solutions and 3D design roadmap.
Developing an understanding of applications meant for domain-specific/general-purpose computing and analyze relevant workloads, identify bottlenecks or acceleration opportunities.
Developing and managing internal software frameworks, repositories, and programs. This also involves maintaining, releasing, documenting, and improving existing software by collaborating with partners on new features, and testing and evaluating new tools from the community.
It is likely that the role will involve travel (days) to cover international conferences. Requirements & Qualifications:
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a master’s with at least 3 years relevant industrial experience in memory sub-system architecture and performance modelling, SoC-level communication, workload characterization
A good working knowledge of computer architecture and underlying memory hierarchy and hands-on experience with relevant simulation tools like gem5, Ramulator, MQSim
Software development experience writing high-quality, tested code, preferably in SystemC, python, C/C++ is a plus
Knowledge and understanding of application driven performance analysis
Knowledge on Machine learning, domain-specific application and algorithms is appreciated
Relocation to Leuven, Belgium is a must
Language:
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Dutch or Chinese language knowledge is a plus
