Position Information Spring Farm Public School, located in a rapidly expanding housing estate near Camden in Sydney’s south-west, is a modern institution with a diverse student body. The Dharawal people are the traditional custodians of this land. Established in April 2016, the school currently serves 860 students from various cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. This includes a 26% population of students from Language Backgrounds Other Than English (LBOTE), representing 48 cultures, and 54 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students. Given the suburb’s growth, the school anticipates a continued increase in student numbers. From its initial 60 students, the population has expanded significantly. This growth, combined with a transient community, necessitates a robust induction process for new students, staff, and community members. Spring Farm Public School was designed for 500 students, including four support classes. The facility supports an innovative learning environment aimed at providing quality education. The school focuses on equipping students with academic and social skills necessary for future success and encourages global citizenship and lifelong learning. Students can engage in various extracurricular activities such as Arts, Sports, leadership, and public speaking. To enhance student outcomes, the school emphasises high expectations, effective assessment, feedback, and data analysis in literacy and numeracy. Teaching practices are evidence-based, aiming for excellence. The school fosters strong partnerships among students, staff, and the community, sharing responsibility for student growth and wellbeing. For more information, including the school plan and annual report, visit the school’s website: Spring Farm Public School.
