Scope of PositionThe Team Leader takes ownership of the daily operation of the product offering and team management. They are responsible for guiding individuals and leading the team to achieve objectives.The Team Leader is responsible for maximising sales, managing stock levels, merchandising and directing the team to ensure the delivery of the highest possible standards of customer service and ensuring all staff follow and comply with health and safety protocols and food safety systems.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

  • Customer Service: Lead by example to deliver exceptional standards of customer service.
  • KPIS’s: Lead the team to achieve company’s KPI’s including sales and hours target.
  • Enquiries: Dealing with customer queries, complaints, returns, special requests.

Operations

  • HACCP: Ensure the application of established procedures for; HACCP, cleaning routines, food safety and workplace safety; Ensuring all areas are kept extremely clean and tidy. Updating and maintaining HACCP records; Cleaning records; Goods-In, Temperature control; Product batch sheets.
  • Inventory: Maintain appropriate levels of stock, placing orders, processing deliveries, dealing with queries from Sales and Warehouse; Perform Weekly and Quarterly Stock takes and filling out Wastage and Stock Control sheets for Finance.
  • Merchandising: Oversight and continual maintenance of the agreed company standards and guidelines.
  • Roster: Maintaining schedules according to agreed location hours targets. Monitoring Holiday/Leave requests, entitlements and treating anomalies ensuring the correct application of exception codes for payroll.
  • Promotions: Supervising promotions, tastings, supplier visits.
  • Quality control: dealing with quality issues, handling Supplier Feedback process, communicating with Sales and Warehouse regarding quality and food safety issues.
  • Communication: Monitoring Team Leaders Group on day-to-day matters and store email for product recall and withdrawal instructions. Monitoring and answering customer emails or phone calls to the counter.
  • Ad hoc duties as required, necessary to fulfil the role and needs of the business effectively.

Management

  • Managing and directing the team, allocating tasks, managing breaks & monitoring standards of work. Taking ownership of day-to-day operations.
  • Team building: Help foster a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with Area Manager team and other Team Leaders on day-to-day matters and strategic projects.
  • Relationships: Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with host store management team, suppliers and EPOS.
  • KPI’s: Lead the team to achieve company’s goals including sales and hours target.
  • Training: Continuous training and development of all team members, using all available training tools such as training planners and retail manual. Active participation during scheduled training sessions. Conduct team meetings when necessary. Fill in training planners and complete training forms.
  • Recruitment: Conducting trials, interviews, on-boarding processes and returning the checklists to the recruitment manager, area managers and HR. Training of the new recruits.
  • HR activities: Performing absence review meetings, doing probation & performance reviews, records of conversation, return to work forms and late forms.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills

  • 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food retail environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish and European farmhouse cheese
  • Previous experience supervising a team desirable
  • HACCP trained
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Organised and calm under pressure
  • Available 5 over 7 days including weekends
