We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Technical Sales Specialist to join our innovative sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in next generation sequencing, genomics and informatics with technical knowledge and expertise.It is essential to have a valid driving license within Belgium with the flexibility to travel up to 50% across the Benelux region.   • Drive towards meeting or exceeding sales quotas by actively engaging in sales activities, delivering technical expertise throughout the sales process, and providing effective consultations on applications, assay design, and data analysis/interpretation.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands
  • Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and consultative discussions during the sales cycle. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
  • Library Prep / design / applications / xxx
  • NGS data analysis management, sharing and storage
  • Analysis, annotation, interpretation and reporting from NGS testing in a clinical environment
  • Integration of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in end-to-end workflows
  • Cloud based pipelines optimization and automation
  • Bioinformatic approaches for specific genomics applications and methods
  • Align and contribute to strategic territory plans in collaboration with other Specialists, Territory Account Managers (TAMs) and District Sales Managers (DSMs).
  • Train local internal sales teams and collaborate closely with existing territory account managers, sales specialists and manager to boost library prep and informatics sales.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management and service and support, to ensure alignment of sales efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence to inform sales strategies and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to raise brand awareness, foster thought leadership, and engage with prospective customers.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, offering expert guidance and support to help them navigate the complexities of removing informatics barriers to help them achieve their scientific objectives.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a sciences degree in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry. Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Experience in a direct sales or similar customer facing role is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of next generation sequencing technologies, platforms, methodologies, and applications.
  • Experience with Sequencing data analysis and interpretation (Variant Calling, read counting, filtering, annotation, interpretation and reporting)
  • Recognized deep technical expertise in clinical informatics, bioinformatics or an associated area
  • Knowledge of sequencing applications (current and emerging), and related data formats, file types, data footprints, and typical analysis methods
  • Strong understanding of life science markets, with a demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, articulate value propositions, and drive sales engagements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset, with a passion for customer success and a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50% travel may be required).
  • Fluency in business English and Dutch or French is required.
