Job Summary

The Technical Specialist will be responsible to troubleshoot to resolve complex faults, identify and remediate the root cause of incidents via problem management methodology as well as scope and implement complex changes within managed Network environments.

The Technical specialist will also be involved in configuration of networks solutions by a range of strategic vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Riverbed and F5, and the ongoing management of Tier 1 infrastructure.

Data Centre, wireless, enterprise networks experience are key to being successful in this role. Certification in major vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed and F5 as well as scripting knowledge and experience with Python, Ansible, Git development workflows (branching, merging), GitLab and CI/CD would be looked upon favourably.

The position is based within the Networks & Security team, which is positioned within the Technical Operations division of Optus Enterprise, Integrated Client Services. The Technical Operations division provides support and delivery of ICT services to a wide range of clients in Australia. Services range from fully managed ICT infrastructure service offerings to support for vendor and third-party maintenance agreements.

Key requirements

• Australian Citizenship due to eligibility to apply for a government security clearance
• Experience with support/configuration of Cisco (Data Centre/ ACI/ APIC) routers and switches, including Nexus
• Support/Configuration of WAN Optimisation Technology (I.e. Cisco WAAS and/ or Riverbed Steelhead)
• Support/Configuration of Fortinet, Aruba and Cisco Wireless solutions
• Support/Configuration of Fortinet, Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
• Support/Configuration of Cisco and Fortinet SD WAN solutions
• Support/configuration of Dynamic routing protocols – BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
• Scripting Skills (Python and Ansible)
• Certificates such as CCNA, CCNP, Forinet NSE 4+ is desired
