Telecom Cabling Tech in support of CDC MTS Program
Responsibilities:
Installs, maintains, repairs, modifies cable systems, conducts MACs; uses engineered drawings, statements of work, and technical manuals to determine requirements for underground, buried, and aerial cable systems.
Prepares and installs distribution equipment.
Terminates tip cables on main distribution frames.
Installs, maintains, and repairs dry air compressors and continuous flow and static pressurization systems.
The Telecom Cabling Tech – Journeyman ensures techniques, materials, and accomplishments are according to technical standards and specifications and engineered directives
Locates, repairs, and/or replaces splice cases; performs pneumatic troubleshooting to locate faulty splice cases and pressure component assemblies using resistance measurements and pressure gradients.
Determines course of signal deterioration in voice and data circuits over cable by using test equipment.
Interfaces with the Telecom Cabling Engineer for overall direction; coordinates with the Telecom System, DAS, and UC teams on issue resolution or projects that involve each or all the work areas.
Coordinates and resolves user issues from the CDC Help Desk daily.
