Telecom Cyber Security Analyst

Start: ASAP

Location: Tempe, AZ

Work Site: Hybrid (2 days/week and those are flexible unless there is a staff meeting)

Contract Length: 12 months and likely to extend

Pay: $65.00 – $84.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Brief:

Plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of providing affordable, reliable water and power to COMPANY customers by participating in cyber security initiatives that protect COMPANY operations. Responsible for safeguarding our operational technology systems and infrastructure against cyber threats. Requires an in-depth understanding and experience in OT cybersecurity, incident response, and vulnerability management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Advising the Telecom Cyber Security Manager on technical cyber security matters and emerging cyber risk trends
• Working on cyber security system planning, testing, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
• Analyzing systems interactions to identify potential vulnerabilities and mitigate risk proactively.
• Supporting network visibility, log collection and analysis
• Monitoring and managing remote access to prevent unauthorized entry and exploitation of OT networks.
• Maintaining and enhancing a risk-based vulnerability management program; prioritize and address vulnerabilities
• Evaluating security controls and provide guidance and recommendations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of OT security principles, including securing firewalls/switches, patch management, and antivirus strategies in an OT environment.
• Proficiency in using cyber security tools for monitoring, detection, and response in OT environments.
• Ability to analyze conditions/configurations and provide cyber security guidance in a variety of business process and technical scenarios.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Certifications:

CISSP, GICSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Education:

Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment. Preference for Computer Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or Business degrees.

Experience:

5 years professional experience in related field.

Familiarity with telecommunication networks, operational technology cyber security and risk concepts; and an understanding of cyber security compliance and risk frameworks. Experience working with Information Technology and Operational Technology infrastructure components, operating systems, and applications from a security compliance and risk perspective.

Pay Details: $65.00 to $84.97 per hour
