To support our continued growth, Five9 is seeking a Telecom Engineer to join our Voice Deployment team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and deployment of next-generation voice technologies, ensuring reliable service delivery and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our telecom infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy scalable, redundant, and highly available telecom solutions across Five9’s data centers and public cloud.
  • Ensure reliability and performance of the voice platform through proactive deployment practices and incident prevention.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to introduce new telecom features, devices, and services.
  • Drive platform improvements by initiating and contributing to projects focused on resilience, automation, and service quality.
  • Develop and maintain operational standards and processes to support deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
  • Analyze telecom incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
  • Evaluate deployment requests for feasibility, scope, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and deployment documentation to operational teams for continued support.
  • Collaborate with and mentor a global team of Voice Engineers to elevate team capabilities.
  • Support ongoing operations and act as a customer advocate to ensure deployment quality aligns with service expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working on a service provider or enterprise voice network.
  • Strong understanding of SIP protocols; experience with WebRTC is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Ribbon SBCs and PSXs highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cisco technologies and CCNA certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in documenting technical solutions including diagrams and written procedures.
  • Experience with Ansible or similar automation tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with project planning or coordination is a plus.
