Telecom Network Engineer (Hybrid/Travel)

This position is on-site/hybrid with 50% travel as needed between Chappaqua, New York and Middletown, New York. A qualified applicant must be local to this area!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, or coordinate the installation of, new or modified hardware, software, or programming modules of telecommunications systems.
• Implement and support NEC telephony and Cisco based networking and telephony systems.
• Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems, networks, and data.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, such as network traffic, security, and capacity, to proactively identify service-impacting issues.
• Resolve complex and escalated network and telecom service issues in a timely manner to support internal and external customer requests and needs.
• Update, and generally improve technical documentation to support security requirements and operational support of systems.

Position Qualifications:

• Experience working with NEC and Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) telephony technologies.
• Familiarity with the standards that apply to telecom networks
• Expertise in telecommunications protocols and technologies
• Technical understanding of various hardware and software components that are crucial for telecom engineering workflows
• Experience with software related to telecommunication systems

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$52,000] – [$120,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
