Overview

This is a hybrid role – 2 days remote and 3 days in the Malvern, PA office.

The Telecom Specialist is responsible for all corporate wide telecom initiatives. This will include project-based rollouts, supporting CubeSmart Telecom systems, and performing provider audits & swings. These projects can be corporate wide vendor changes, service upgrades, billing reviews, etc. This individual will focus on standardizing the companies Telecom systems and procedures at the direction of the Telecom Manager. The Telecom Specialist is also responsible for assisting with any escalation oversight of day-to-day tasks involving all aspects of the telecom lifecycle as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Project assistance including regular communication of all company-wide telecom initiatives from conception to completion
  • Supports voice and data connections including POTs, VoIP, SIP, broadband, fiber and mobile at all Company locations
  • Serves as a technical point of contact for escalated telecom support issues
  • General to advanced knowledge of telecom cabling, networking, and connectivity
  • Promotes valuable communication between internal teammates and vendors
  • Primary responsibility of keeping telecom systems and assets documented and standardized
  • Primary point of contact for VoIP related installations and issues
  • Escalated point of contact for inside wiring technicians for the purpose of ensuring all company locations are operating at maximum capacity and in accordance with company standard design
  • Creates and maintains documentation of department processes and procedures
  • Oversees maintenance of telecommunication services inventory database
  • Assists in management of telecom vendor relationships and contracts
  • Regularly leads in sourcing internet and phone lines from gathering quotes to completion
  • Maintains open dialogue and relationships within IT and with other departments to ensure that optimal connectivity and system security is maintained
  • On call availability as needed on a rotating schedule

Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable configuring hosted VoIP systems & SIP devices
  • Experience with Fresh Service ticketing system or other ITIL Suites
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Cisco, Meraki firewalls & Dashboard
  • Above average knowledge of MS Office suite

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science, or other information systems related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years of experience in a telecom support and/or billing environment
  • Ideal candidate will be highly organized, task oriented, capable of managing multiple complex tasks and able to work with several groups at once.
  • In-depth understanding of VoIP systems and SIP communications
  • Strong problem solving and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to pursue challenging issues with telecom providers ensuring timely resolution
  • Experience with telecommunications expense management services (TEM)
