Summary

Under direct leadership from the Telecom Manager, and in guidance and consultation with the Senior Telecom Specialist, this position is a member of a Telecommunications support team responsible for implementing, supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting the enterprise telecommunications infrastructure.

Position Reports To: IT Telecom Manager

Essential Functions

1. Creates and maintains unified communications systems and documentation.
2. Administers voice mail, ACD and call accounting systems.
3. Manages and maintains unified communication management tools.
4. Assists in M/A/C requests for extensions, physical moves, replacements.
5. Schedules and performs regular updates and upgrades on unified communication systems.
6. Assists in maintaining written telecom equipment standards.
7. Deploys and maintains desk and wireless telephone systems & devices.
8. Works to resolve all issues in a timely manner.
9. Provides reporting that proactively identifies more complex problem areas with trending activities.
10. Performs and manages problem identification, isolation, resolution, and solution documentation.
11. Assists in the development of implementation plans for requested projects.
12. Prepares documentation and evidence to support requested fixes and changes.
13. Follows change management procedures and requirements provided by the organization.
14. Updates all supported platforms documentation to reflect change.
15. Participates in on-call rotation and responds in a timely manner as defined by management.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: 

• 2+ years telecom experience supporting PBX, VoIP and Voice Mail.
• Experience supporting ACD and call accounting systems.
• Experience supporting vendor provided telecom circuits & managing issues with external telecom vendors.
• Experience with TCP/IP, routers/switches and wireless networks.

Preferred:

• AA/BS/BA or comparable experience.
• NEC Certification (PBX, ACD, Voice Mail, Global Navigator, MA4000, VoIP)

Working Conditions: 

• Works at multiple locations. Frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards. Requires occasional evening/night and weekend work. May use own vehicle to travel among the sites and to transport equipment. Please refer to Confluence Health policy 4835889 regarding using own vehicle. Participates in a 7×24-hour on-call support rotation.
