ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Wind River is looking for a Telecom Vertical Marketing Director who will be responsible for marketing Wind River products, solutions, and services to the Telecommunications market. You will be responsible for owning and driving Wind River global Telecommunications marketing campaigns, programs, and engagements from strategy through implementation to results.

This opportunity is collaborative in nature, and it is incredibly important that this role works closely with internal teams including the global Sales team, Product Marketing, Product Management, Marketing Operations, Sales Development, Partner Enablement, and Aptiv (Wind River’s parent company). In addition, the ideal persona for this job has or can acquire the technical aptitude to build value propositions and position our Telecom portfolio to the appropriate personas.

ABOUT YOU

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective and scalable marketing strategies and campaigns tailored to a vertical audience, building marketing frameworks that can be leveraged globally. This includes identifying target markets and buyer personas, setting lead generation goals to align with wider team and company goals, and determining optimal marketing mix, (using a range of channels including digital marketing, events, webinars, email marketing, and social media,) to achieve these goals.
  • Develop and represent Wind River’s voice for the Telecom vertical.
  • Lead/support the planning and execution of horizontal/product-led marketing strategies and campaigns to your vertical.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Alliances, Product Management, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and Wind River’s external partners to align initiatives with overall business goals.
  • Engage Sales leaders and Sales teams in the planning and execution of programs to ensure programs have maximum positive impact.
  • Manage program and campaign spend to remain within stated marketing budget. Always looking for creative ways to leverage and extend the value of every program.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and initiatives and iterate strategies to optimize results.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and best practices in vertical marketing.
  • Contribute to analyses of vertical market competition.
  • Share best practices, successes, and failures with the rest of the team so everyone can grow.
  • Specific activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Content development, which includes working with stakeholders and 3rd parties to produce:
  • Solution briefs
  • Industry use cases
  • Customer stories
  • Technical white papers
  • Market research
  • Blog posts
  • Sales Enablement:
  • Value proposition presentations
  • Social media content
  • Ad-hoc sales support
  • Lead/support sales training for new products or updates
  • Activation and lead generation:
  • Work in partnership with Demand Gen team to produce leads via:
  • Content promotion on 3rd party websites including banner ads, paid content, paid social, etc.
  • Webinars
  • Content (review)
  • Direct placement of content and ads where applicable on 3rd party websites and campaigns
  • Web:
  • Responsible for vertical and related pages as well as vertical content on general pages.
  • Events:
  • Produce webinars
  • Lead/support corporate events related to vertical (e.g., CES/MWC/Embedded World, etc.)
  • Lead vertical events (e.g., Fyuz, QuadA, Mosa Summit, etc.)
  • Lead/support digital events (e.g., TTV panels)
  • Ecosystem and Partner marketing:
  • Execute and in some cases own partner marketing strategy and/or activities such as:
  • Joint solution briefs
  • Webinars
  • Demos including partner technologies
  • Event presence
  • Identify sources of, plan and execute the use of, and manage partner development funds (MDF)
  • Leadership, collaboration, and campaign execution with industry groups, consortia, open-source projects

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of success in Marketing within a high-growth environment.
  • Experience in embedded, enterprise software, SaaS or silicon preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt your messaging to meet your audiences, internally and externally.
  • Strong customer/partner relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Proven analytical skills, able to assess opportunities and make decisions on ROI/advantages of programs & investments.
  • Track record of delivering strong results and innovation.
  • Growth mindset – someone who is not afraid to think big and take on risks.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a self-starter, fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity through new campaign ideation, content creation, visual design, branding, and messaging.
  • Must be willing to travel on an occasional basis, up to 15%.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with effective project and time management, with willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation 

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $175,300 to $230,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $187,700 to $245,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
