SP Energy Networks (SPEN) is transforming its Telecoms function! Telecoms are a key part of the network’s business and a cornerstone in the evolution towards Net Zero.
We are recruiting an experienced Inventory Engineer (Telecoms) to join us in this journey to create a new telecoms operating model by overseeing and optimising the acceptance into live service line (AILS) process and the inventory management processes for telecoms equipment and materials.

You’ll develop strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to place and track orders for telecoms equipment whilst negotiating favourable terms.
You’ll carry out regular quality assurance checks on incoming inventory to ensure compliance with our standards, and work with internal teams and vendor stakeholders to realise improvements including asset and config renewals.
We’re looking for candidates who are innovative and forward thinking, who can present new opportunities to enhance inventory management efficiency and establish projects to implement change.
You’ll conduct checks of management platforms, telecoms inventory databases, network diagrams being up to date, as well as project documentation reviews against as-builds.
Assist in Routine Maintenance governance, managing data and interpreting test results and progressing issues to resolution.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for candidates with existing experience in inventory management and control and preferably in the telecoms sector. Educated to a Bachelors degree in a relevant field or practice experience in the working environment supported with relevant certifications.
