Telecoms Manager

DHL, an award-winning, leading supply chain business is seeking a Telecoms Manager, to manage and deliver Telecoms services for DSC UKI and act as the main point of contact for first line escalation for Supplier for service faults and projects.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will be responsible for:

• Liaising with European Telecoms Optimisation (ETO)main provider in the delivery and management of WAN, SDWAN, LAN, WLAN and Fixed Voice networks within the contract and Technical Refresh programs.
• Act as the initial escalation point for delivery and service within the contract.
• Provide technical knowledge on Telecoms to the wider IT function and operations.
• Managing of BT UK based Telecoms products.
• Managing of In life Telecoms projects.
• Managing of all DHL based UK Telecoms projects.
• Arranging with sites, delivering technical explanations of activity, managing Telecoms activities throughout the program and in each individual site technical refresh.
• Ensuring ETO provider provide proper program and project management resource.
• Ensuring ETO Provider provide comprehensive, deliverable plans, considering the DHL UKI requirements and business cycles.
• Ensuring all required communications are delivered to and from the DHL business to BTGS in the planning and execution stage.
• Providing the project management resource required to deliver Tech Refresh on DHL UKI sites.
• To provide updates and reports to DHL UKI management as required.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• In-depth technical Telecoms knowledge and analytical skills.
• Customer orientated with supplier management of Telecoms Suppliers.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed organisation.
• Project management skills with experience in delivering major infrastructure telecoms projects and program.
• Ability to deliver very complex and long running programs with the minimum of assistance.
• ITIL Qualification
